The winners of the 13th edition of the Fígaro Awards are revealed!

The Spanish Hairdressing Awards gala was held on the evening of Monday October 24, with a stunning staging that, without capacity restrictions, recovered all its essence.

The 13th edition of the Fígaro Awards once again brought together the most creative hairdressing professionals, in what is already one of the most important events for the industry, both nationally and internationally.

Organised by Club Fígaro, with Revlon Professional as main sponsor and Salón Look IFEMA MADRID as official partner, the acclaimed event demonstrated the enormous creative talent of Spanish hairdressing, thanks to the high level of all the collections presented.

The Ceremony

Sergi Bancells, Club Fígaro's international ambassador, entered the catwalk to the rhythm of the Imperial March, to welcome all those present and, once again this year, to lead the gala with mastery.

A Figaro Catwalk that was filled with rhythm, colour and talent as we saw all the finalist collections parade, with stagings that left no one indifferent: live music, choreographies, fashion... Everything was measured to the detail.

Before the awards ceremony, Felicitas Ordás, president of Club Fígaro, gave an emotional speech in which she highlighted the important role of hairdressing professionals for society as a whole, especially in difficult times, and encouraged them to "give clients our best version, being more positive, giving added value to our service and providing them with authentic experiences during their visits. This is the future of hairdressing: to fill our clients with excitement and emotion. Let's not be afraid to value ourselves for our work". He also highlighted Club Fígaro's commitment to thrill and create unforgettable experiences, thanks to novelties such as Fígaro Experience.

Jordi Trilles, Regional General Manager Southern Europe of Revlon Professional, said: "There is a fundamental value here, which is the effort, at all levels, to organise the Awards and to participate in them. There is also passion, because everything we see is the result of putting the heart at the service of a job well done. And there is also talent, but not arrogant, it is a generous talent to teach and share learning and inspiration to thousands of hairdressers."

Julia González, director of the Fashion, Beauty and Lifestyle fairs at IFEMA, emphasised that: "For Salón Look and for IFEMA this is the icing on the cake". And she added: "This is your home and I hope it continues to be so; that it continues to be the stage for all the creativity, talent and work that we see here year after year."

Sergi Bancells wanted to highlight the importance of the Fígaro Awards and creative professionals to inspire young people and show them that hairdressing is much more than it may seem. "It is our responsibility to open all the doors and break down all the walls to make every day more visible how wonderful this profession is (...) because the new generations will be the protagonists who will take our beloved hairdressing further and further, higher and higher and more beautiful".

The Fígaro in the Newcomer Hairdresser category was awarded to Alba Andreu (Salones CV by Carlos Valiente) by Ángela Navarro; the award in the Men’s Commercial category was given to Christian Ríos (Christian Ríos Hair Couture) by Alexis Continente; in the Women’s Commercial category it was delivered to Experimento No Name by Nicky Pope; the Fígaro in the Avant-garde category was given to Manuel Mon (Manuel Mon Estilistas) by Tony Rizzo; in the International category, Juliette den Ouden (JDO/Juliette den Ouden) received the award, which was announced by Miquel García Cotado, Global Creative Vice President of Revlon Professional. In the top category of the Figaro Awards, Spanish Hairdresser of the Year, the award was given to Carlos Valiente (Salones CV by Carlos Valiente) by Angelo Seminara. It is the first time in the history of the Awards that a hairdresser repeats the feat of winning this most prized award, something that Carlos Valiente already achieved in 2018.

High participation in the awards

Fígaro Experience

In a gala full of surprises, it is worth mentioning Fígaro Experience: an innovative VIP program designed for all those professionals who wish to live the experience of the Awards from the inside, as witnesses and allies of a unique moment, together with the protagonists of the gala and from a privileged place.

Thank you very much to all the participants and congratulations to the winners of this 13th edition!

About Club Fígaro

Club Fígaro is a non-profit associative project created in 2009 by an outstanding group of Spanish hairdressing professionals. The main objective pursued by Club Fígaro is the social recognition of the profession, and this is articulated with the creation of the Spanish Hairdressing Awards, which have been held since 2010 and value the photographic works of hairdressing trends from the main Spanish firms. The transparency and prestige of the Awards is guaranteed by the appointment of an external jury, made up of five prominent names in international hairdressing, who vote individually and independently on the collections presented anonymously. The winners of the different categories of the Awards are announced during the Figaro Catwalk, an event that has already become the great annual event for Spanish hairdressers.

Club Fígaro has the support of its main sponsor Revlon ProfessionalSalón Look IFEMA MADRID, a leading trade fair event, as an official partner and MDB Education, as a collaborator. Finally, Club Fígaro has the support of the main professional beauty magazines and portals in Spain.
