The Fígaro Awards are back this year with a wide participation and a new edition full of surprises!
The most important event of the Spanish Hairdressing industry is experiencing its sweet moment in its 13th year, after overcoming the two past editions during the pandemic – thanks to the 136 collections submitted this year, coming from the always faithful involvement of great hair professionals in the sector, both national and international.
On October 24, during the celebration of Salón Look IFEMA MADRID, the red carpet will be rolled out to welcome all creative hairdressers from our country and beyond, as well as a large audience made of industry pros and personalities. Once again, all of them will be able to enjoy a magical night that gives visibility and notoriety to hairdressers in Spain, thus consolidating an increasingly powerful and cosmopolitan industry.
It should be noted that in this new edition of 2022, the international commitment to this event is maintained with 24 collections submitted to the Best International Collection category, with a great variety of countries around the world that lead them. That is why the awards are consolidated more than ever in the international sector of professional and creative hairdressing, giving relevance to the Spanish market.
Within our borders, the great diversity of participation in the Autonomous Communities (Spanish regions) also shows the flourishing of these awards that reach a stage of maturity and development. Undoubtedly the Fígaro awards stand as an indisputable reference among the hairdresser’s events of our country, as well as one of the most followed and respected challenge in the world. Once again, the region that brings more participation to the Fígaro Awards is the Valencian Community, with 32 collections in total, followed by Catalonia with 18 entries and Andalusia with 15.
Finally, the breakdown by categories shows the clear trend of the latest years, where the Female Commercial category, with 43 entries, continues to be the main option of the participants, followed by the Male Commercial category, with 25 collections and the International and Avant-garde categories, with 24 and 19 entries each. In the main category, Spanish Hairdresser of the Year, 14 entries have been submitted.
Thus, the clear response of the industry to these professional and creative hairdressing awards demonstrates the great success of the event. The Fígaro Awards are positioned as a benchmark in the industry, placing it in its maturity stage, to undoubtedly continue growing and providing value to all hairdressers, both inside and outside our country. In addition to offering all of them the opportunity to make visible and project their talent and artistic careers around the world.

And so that there is no doubt about the exquisite moment in which the Fígaro Awards are today, thanks, of course, to the undoubted work and effort of past years that now bear fruit, the Board and its entire team present a ceremony full of surprises, in which Fígaro Experience should be highlighted: an innovative VIP program designed for those members of the Fígaro Club who wish to live the experience of the Awards from within, as witnesses and allies of a unique moment. Together with the protagonists of the gala and from a place of privilege, during the two days that the event will be held.

The Contest
The Spanish Hairdressing Awards, also called Fígaro Awards, value the photographic works of the hairdressing creations of the participating firms, to reward the most outstanding creative hairdressers in the country. They consist of five categories and were established in 2009 to give notoriety and visibility to the artistic work of Spanish hairdressers. The basic objective pursued by Club Fígaro with the creation of these awards is the social and professional recognition of hairdressing in Spain to consolidate an industry that is increasingly cosmopolitan and powerful.
Participating hairdressers register online to participate and upload their photographic collections to the Club Fígaro website. Afterward, the professional jury, made up of prominent personalities from national and international hairdressing and which changes every year, individually and independently votes the collections submitted anonymously, so impartiality is guaranteed.
